Irrigation and Drainage Project Update

We are thrilled to announce the finalised plan and schedule for our upcoming irrigation and drainage projects, marking a significant stride in enhancing our course’s performance and sustainability.
Irrigation Project: Commencing on February 19, 2024, the irrigation project will kick off on holes 9 and 18, followed by a seamless progression to holes 12, 15, 16, and 17. This pivotal undertaking is slated to span approximately 16 weeks, promising substantial improvements in our irrigation infrastructure.
Drainage Project: In June 2024, our focus will shift to the drainage project, initially targeting holes 9 and 18 before extending to holes 12 and 15. Anticipated to last around 4 weeks, this phase aims to bolster course drainage, ensuring operational continuity and cart access even during inclement weather.

- These projects promise significant benefits. The irrigation enhancements, including upgrades to satellite boxes, will grant our team enhanced control over watering while extending its reach. The drainage improvements will mitigate water accumulation on our most affected holes, thereby enabling greater access to the course.
- Will any holes be closed during the process?
- Yes, specific holes will be temporarily closed from Monday to Friday to facilitate efficient and safe work by our contractors.
- How will the course be played when holes are closed?
- Holes 1A, 1B, 3A, and 3B will be utilised during the closure of specific holes, ensuring continuous playability of the course.
- Where will the unused soil be placed?
- All spoil will be carefully deposited on the left side of hole 17, serving as the foundation for the construction of a nursery green.
- What will the drainage pattern look like?
- Please refer to the attached images from Bankstown Golf Club, illustrating the successful completion of a similar drainage project.
