2019 Clubhouse of the Year
Strathfield Golf Club has been recognized as one of the best new clubhouses in the world by the prestigious Golf inc. magazine (USA).
The annual “Clubhouse of the year competition” which has been running for 25 years is held world wide and other winners were the Royal Golf Club Marrakech (owned by King Mohammed V1) Papago Golf Club (owned by the City Of Phoenix) with an honourable mention going to Trump Golf Links.
The award was open to new golf clubhouses built in 2018 /2019 throughout the world and it is a great honour for an Australian Golf Club to receive this award.
Located close to the heart of the Sydney metropolitan area, Strathfield Golf Club is within easy driving distance of Sydney’s suburbs to the north, south, east and west.
The Club has recently undergone a major redevelopment resulting in a brand-new spectacular clubhouse which officially opened in November of 2018. A hidden oasis encompassed by the lush fairways of the golf course, the clubhouse features a members lounge, sports lounge, casual dining area, café, event centre and an abundance of alfresco areas all with panoramic views.
The sculptural building shape was inspired by forms experienced on the golf course, namely the curvature of rolling greens, the undulating edges of bunkers and the elliptical shape of a driver. When viewed from above, the building form represents three ‘drivers’ and when viewed from ground level, the building blends in seamlessly with the surrounding golf course.
Views over the golf course from within the clubhouse have been maximized and take full advantage of the building being in such close proximity to the golf course.
Visitors are welcome to visit and enjoy the wonderful clubhouse facilities. Strathfield Golf Club now offers a social category of membership, giving those members access to the lounge, dining of the new clubhouse.
